Her fall has just begun. Only his touch can save her from the shift that could destroy it all.
Within my blood runs a thing our kind calls the Shadowing Disease. It shadows over, and bends everything to its will. When the first blood- shift came, it tore through flesh and blood, threatening to bend me, break bone, shatter my mind and entrap my heart with its honeyed, seductive poison. It came with vicious intent, moving my thoughts and altering me forever. The shift has caused a rift within me. No one was safe when it entrapped me in its claws of foul lust. But I have the only antidote against the evil that becomes me – his touch alone has the power to release the spurs of sweet darkness that clung on for dear life. I knew what I had to do; the desperation pulled my mind with the deep determination of a hungry predator. But by the time the revelation raised me from the dark dungeon of my bounds – it might have been too late.

“My goal as an author is to touch people’s lives, and help others love their differences and one another.

All of me

My makers would say I was created for revenge. I say, I was born to prove them wrong. Inflicted with the dark disease I was lost in every possible way, and they were wrong – death does not bring you your true purpose. After death, I am more misplaced than ever, but only because I am immune to guidance. I relive my darkest moments over and over again, just to remind myself of who I am. I am the destined one. The haltered. For me, there is no love, and no release; only destruction, but I am on a path to be free of its burden. I do love and I will have it, absorb it and never, ever, let all its enchanting affections go. In order to be with love, there is only one path to lead me there; through this war. But nothing and no one, knows what awaits on the other side, or what lies have been afflicted upon us about the after. Remorse is an infection I no longer want. I had made apocalyptic mistakes, and will probably keep on faltering forward. It has become my only direction in a reality where there is none. To him, there is no him, if there is no me. He is bound to me, and I hated it more than I will ever confess. His cross to bear is me, and to be that – to be this –might never let me go. Acceptance? I will never accept it. With him, I have found hope where the word does not exist. I want him to love me for who I am, not for what he is to me. When I say my worst enemy is me – it really is. It’s in me, and it’s getting stronger, because I am without my seal. I am like a boiled-over pot of living poison, seeking somewhere to belong. Thing is, I do not belong anywhere but the in- between. And without my seal, and without him, that is exactly where I will stay. Everything that is, that exists, will try to keep us apart, because of what I am. If we ignite, we could either burn it all down, or alter existence forever. Yes, I shifted, probably something I could have prevented, but now that I have tasted it – it moves on its own accord, and it gets harder to come out of each time it happens. The blood-shift has caused a rift within me. It has torn everything I hold dear from me. And perhaps I am now damned for it, but as I said, I will not accept damnation. That word no longer exists to me. I am the in-between. The one to bring the dark and the light together. When the first true blood- shift came, it tore through flesh and parted blood, threatening to bend me, break bone, shatter my mind and entrap my heart to become its will. It comes with vicious intent, moving my thoughts, touching me with a cutting effect from the inside. It has many ways of bleeding out, and when it releases, there is nothing I can do to stop it. No one is safe when it entraps me in its claws of foul lust. Corrupt, damnable, depraved, destructive, hideous, demonic – your kind would call it many things. I have a weapon against the profane that becomes me – his touch alone has the power to release the talons of a sweet darkness that clings on for dear life. It has one trigger – me. I can change it if only I can take the leap, surrender myself utterly. I am ready with all of me, for all of him. I know what I have to do; the desperation of it pulls my mind with the unfathomable determination of a ravenous predator. I let it sink in hard and true. I feel the swell of the fight fill me with a bitter sweetness, and with a glorious soothing pain that tears my mind from the disease which transforms me. In a moments revelations my mind shows me a glimpse of what has transpired. It works on pure logic, showing me that I am too late? How can I stop him from igniting with the wrong one? My loss has become my fight as I watch it all wither away. But, I will never stop fighting. I am my own destiny. And my destiny is to be with him. My eyes fling open. My heart pounds, searing to life. The geometric shapes I had seen before, become one big silhouette. I find myself seeing where there is no light. I can hear him, feel his heart’s rhythm – so close. I will take back what is mine. Everything else becomes Evanescent.

OMG.. I can not WAIT to read this book!!!  For you... My Beautiful friend Carlyle!!  If you need me for anything, I am here!!

The Debt Collector by Susan Kaye Quinn

 DebtCollector_FBCover Sale

Season One of the Debt Collector serial with all nine episodes of the first season. What's your life worth on the open market? A debt collector can tell you precisely. Lirium plays the part of the grim reaper well, with his dark trenchcoat, jackboots, and the black marks on his soul that every debt collector carries. He's just in it for his cut, the ten percent of the life energy he collects before he transfers it on to the high potentials, the people who will make the world a better place with their brains, their work, and their lives. That hit of life energy, a bottle of vodka and a visit from one of Madam Anastazja's sex workers keep him alive, stable and mostly sane... until he collects again. But when his recovery ritual is disrupted by a sex worker who isn't what she seems, he has to choose between doing an illegal hit for a girl whose story has more holes than his soul or facing the bottle alone--a dark pit he's not sure he'll be able to climb out of again. The nine episodes of the Debt Collector serial are collectively 125k words or about 500 pages. This dark and gritty future-noir is about a world where your life-worth is tabulated on the open market and going into debt risks a lot more than your credit rating. *Novella* (80 pages)
Genre- YA Dystopian

‘I walk toward the sea. The endless surface of the water extends to the horizon, whichever way I look.

Our world is small. We are on our own, and we only have ourselves to depend on. We rely on the Force deep within us, as taught to us by our forefathers.

If I were to walk westward from here, I would come across a barrier – the Wall.
Behind it, there are Fools. At least, that’s what everyone says.
I have never seen one.’

Leia lives on the Island, a world in which children leave their parents to take care of themselves when they are ten years old. Across this Island runs a wall that no one has ever crossed. The Fools living behind it are not amenable to reason – they believe in illusions. That’s what The Book says, the only thing left to the Eastern Islanders by their ancestors.
But when a strange man washes ashore and Leia meets a Fool face to face, her life will never be the same. Is what she and her friends believe about the Island really true?

Or is everyone in their world, in fact, a Fool?

Review and Character Bio for Winter Night Falling by Bryan R. South!!

Book Title: Winter Night Falling
Series:  Ti-aran Chronicles: Rise of the Guardians Book One
Edition: Second
Author: Bryan R. South
Publisher: Freaky Fiction Writing -
Cover Art: Bryan Rainey
Tour Organizer:Cu’s Ebook Giveaways -

The Four Kingdoms are in peril. A demon Lord thought forever imprisoned in limbo has escaped and begins to summon his Horde once again to take his revenge. In his twisted black iron tower he summons a massive wall of darkness that brings the winter storms in the fullest.
Now the Four Kingdoms are each proud and full of themselves.  All the races of the realms must come together and fight the demon lord once again. Magic has been outlawed, and it is up to the reawakened Grand Mage, an eccentric old man, and what is left of the Mage Knights, as well as a budding Guardian to try to keep the peace.
Can the Grand Mage and his friends get the other kingdoms to move in time to stop the Demon Lord? Does the Demon Lord have more than one objective now that he is free? Only time will tell.

First let me say that this is my first book that is like this.  I haven't even read Lord of the Rings *slaps hand!*, but this is similar in storyline to that.  I always love it when one I haven't read before, completely takes me by surprise!!

This book was two journeys in one! The first is Orindyll, an ancient wizard who awakes to find the world he left behind quite different from the world he is faced with.  He's been asleep for a very long time, and people think him long dead when faced with him.  The Demon Lord, B'Liamon has escaped his prison, and is now back on his throne.  It is up to Orindyll and the few men he's able to find to stop him.  Whatever the cost!

The second journey is Tomas Silverhand.  He is the youngest son of J'Lann, and the next Grand Mage! While is at Elfhome being taught everything he needs to know, he is faced with a choice.  It surprises everyone who knows him, but it causes him to go on a journey to discover more of what it means for him and his people.

This book was riveting to me! I love when I can get lost in a book, and I was able to get lost in this book!  I would start reading, and time would fly past without me even realizing it!  I love when that happens to me!  I loved getting lost in this world of Elves, Demons, and otherworldly creatures!  It honestly makes me want to read Lord of the Rings!!  I haven't yet... *again slaps hand*, but this book makes me want to!!

Duke of High Points Chambers   Excerpt #2

Duke Echias turned over in his blankets and looked about the room. Still a little tipsy he thought as he watched the rooms’ features roll in his vision. He shut his eyes briefly, only to snap them back open when he felt the edge of something cold, obviously steel, and an edge against his jugular.

“Good Evening, your Grace. Would you mind telling me where you are keeping my son? Don’t look at me! You look at the old man sitting at the end of your bed. He’s important. He is the Grand Mage, and has a few inquiries for you got it?” whispered J’Lann. Orindyll gave the now terrified man a little wave from the end of his bed as he popped into view.

“Good evening your Grace. I am Orindyll Ravenslock, Earl of Raven’s Bluff. Do you know of me? Good. It saves time. You know what I am capable of doing to you if you do not cooperate?”
The Duke gave a slight nod, stopped by the edge of J’Lann’s dagger drawing a thin line of blood.

“I am sure the Duke is going to cooperate Preceptor, you can put away your toy for a few minutes. Oh don’t worry about trying to call for your guards. I put the whole palace under a sleep enchantment upon entering, so you and I can have a quiet little chat.” said Orindyll casually flipping his hand this way and that. J’Lann tucked his dagger back into its scabbard in his boot and crossed his arms over his chest, foot tapping impatiently.

Orindyll rolled his eyes in mock exasperation. “Alright, alright... first question then, where are you keeping the Preceptor’s son?”
“I don’t know who you mean” said Echias. J’Lann reached over and grabbed Echias by the throat and lifted him into the air with one hand, green eyes blazing.
“Let’s speak plainly. I don’t have time for games. Where are you keeping my Son, Joran Silverhand.” whispered J’Lann with some venom to the edge of his voice.

“He is in a cell just under the wine cellar, first door on the left “stammered Echias. “Did you hear that?” asked J’Lann raising his voice.
Sergeant Gregory appeared out of thin air and nodded. ”Zatch is enroute”
Echias grew pale at the appearance of another Mage in his bed chambers. Greg didn’t help matters by giving the Duke a little finger wave.
”All right. Now how many more of my men are you holding?” asked J’Lann.

“And just who are you.....?” his questions were interrupted by J’Lann’s fist smashing into his face. J’Lann walked over and picked him up once more bringing the Duke’s face into his own. “I told you I don’t have time for games. You know who I am. The Grand Mage told you who I am. Now answer the question before I really begin to lose patience with you.”
“I hold two more of your mage-spawn. They’re in the cells next to your son. They’re really old though.” sneered Echias.

“Are you making a comment about age sonny?” asked Orindyll. “I have you know I am well over a thousand years old. Now pay attention, I have two questions for you, and one official order. Are you ready? You sure J’Lann didn’t thump you too hard? Alright here is my first question then. Why did you disband the Border Guard stationed in the Old Keep at Jalen’s Pass?”

“There is no reason to keep it manned. There has been no threat from the North since the end of the Great War.”
Orindyll shook his head as if disappointed in a child. “What if I told you that there is a serious threat now? What if I told you that the Dark One has escaped his prison and as we speak sits on his Black throne in his Tower?” The Duke’s face drained of all color. “That isn’t possible it was…” he paused as it finally sank into his wine muddled head exactly who was sitting on the end of his bed.

“Me that sealed him away? I am quite aware of this. The threat is genuine. The Barons of Caer Cian and North Watch have already lost men to him and his horde. The Barony of North Watch is begin ran by its steward since the Baron was slain. Until you decided to send that Captain Rancos to Northkeep to arrest Count Evan he was mustering soldiers to man the old keep. The Dwarven king has sent him two hundred of his finest warriors as well. Now on to my second question. Where is Corporal Summers? He wasn’t in the rooms your Chamberlain assigned him.”

Echias scowled and looked over at Orindyll finally regaining some of his composure. “Why do you want that Black Heart for?”
Greg looked from where he was watching the mild interrogation over to J’Lann.
“I don’t think he realizes how much trouble he is in.” he said quietly.
The Duke’s head whipped around to glare at Greg. “How so?”

“You violated a very old High King’s law my friend, by arresting my men you have condemned yourself to a Treasonous act.  There are only three who can reprimand my men. The High King, the Grand Mage, and myself. When they swear their oaths they are outside your jurisdiction. In fact we can probably bring you up on several accounts of kidnapping and murder while we are at it.” said J’Lann with an evil grin.

Orindyll watched the Dukes bluster fade once more. “Not having such a chipper night are we? Now for my Order. Sarah show yourself.” Sarah materialized, standing next to her grandfather once again tossing her long black locks over her shoulder. Duke Echias paled again. Four!  Four foul magic users in his bedchambers.  That was when he knew he was doomed to the gibbet, and let out a sigh.

Orindyll continued.” You are going to send two Full companies of your guard to the Keep in Jalen’s Pass. In fact you are going to write up the order right now and my beautiful granddaughter here is going to deliver it to your general personally.” Echias let out another sigh and reached over towards his writing desk for a pen, when the door to the bedchamber was thrown open with violent force. In the doorway stood a fuming Joran, glowing sword held in shackled hands.

“Where is he?” came his voice with barely contained fury.
J’Lann was a wraith as he crossed the distance between him and the Duke and violently grabbed him and lifted him into the air once more.
“You said nothing about him being roughed up!”
” I am alright Father. I just want Summers’ head so I can stick it on a pig pole and kick it a few hundred times. Grand Mage can you take off these shackles please?”

Orindyll was glaring at Echias, and then waved Joran over. “I thought all of these destroyed. Who made these Echias?”
“I don’t know I purchased a dozen from a cloaked merchant about five years ago.” he said softly. Orindyll barked an incantation, and watched the Glow fade from the shackles and then reached out and pushed in on a series of bolts in a predetermined order and the shackles fell to the floor with a large clang.

  “Burn them” said Orindyll.
“Gladly!“ Said Zatch picking them up and tossing them into the hearth and calling fire to the unlit logs there. Orindyll once more was looking at Echias.

“Write your General Echias. And then we will move you to your new quarters down in your own dungeons.”

I began writing young, with a diary followed by an interest in English. My first experience with publication came when I placed third in a Freedoms Foundation at Valley Forge contest while I was in the Air Force, but my dedication to writing came after I had my youngest child, now a teen getting ready to enter his senior year of high school. My husband, son, and I live in Northwest Georgia where I now spend my days creating stories about life in the south, and far beyond. More than a dozen of my short stories have appeared in several magazines. Five anthologies feature other short stories, and my teen novel, Softly Say Goodbye, released last year.

I finally decided to write down some of the stories in my head and heart after dawdling around and wasting years dreaming. I hope you enjoy reading those stories as much as I love writing them!
